Live casino data feed: how it works for platforms
What a live video and results feed is, what stays on your platform, the stream questions to ask, and when to move to Seamless API.
If you already run your own casino, you do not need a provider to run it for you. You need the live tables: the dealers, the studios and the video, delivered into the lobby, wallet and player journey you have already built. That is what a live casino data feed does. This guide explains how it works, what stays on your side, and the questions worth asking before you integrate one.
What a live casino data feed is
A live casino data feed is a stream of live dealer video plus the game results that go with it, delivered into a platform that handles everything else itself. The provider runs the studios, the tables and the production. The platform renders the game, takes the bets, settles them and owns the player.
At Vivo Gaming this is the Data Feed API, one of the two ways to connect to our tables. The other is Seamless API, where wallet, sessions and settlement run on our infrastructure. Same tables, same games and one contract either way. The difference is how much of the stack you run.
What is in the feed
- Live HD video. Every table is captured on several cameras in HD and streamed 24/7 from studios we own in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa.
- Game results. Each result is sent the moment it settles at the table, so your platform can settle bets without waiting.
- Game state, bound to the video. Metadata and time stamping tie the video, the game state and the result together, so what the player sees and what your platform settles line up.
Cards and outcomes are read by computer vision on every table. The catalog behind the feed is the full live floor: 200+ tables in 25+ languages, including 20+ baccarat tables, Speed Baccarat and Dragon Tiger, roulette, blackjack and the Asian formats.
What your platform keeps
With a data feed, nothing about your casino changes hands:
- Your UI. You render the tables in your own front end, under your brand.
- Your wallet. Player balances never leave your platform.
- Your bet flow and settlement. You accept bets and settle them on your stack, against the results in the feed.
- Your player journey. Lobby, bonusing, limits and reporting stay exactly as you run them today.
The footprint on your side is small: render the video, consume the results, settle. That is why a data feed is usually the fastest way to put live tables in a lobby.
Stream questions to ask
Platform teams tend to ask the same questions about delivery. These are the ones worth putting to any provider, with our answers:
- Which stream formats do you deliver? Several, tuned per device and market. The protocol and delivery detail is in our architecture documentation, shared under NDA during scoping.
- How do results stay in sync with the video? Through metadata and time stamping that bind video, game state and result at the source.
- How are outcomes read? By computer vision on every table, card by card and result by result.
- Do the tables run around the clock? Yes. The tables stream 24/7, and 24/7 technical support takes over once you are live.
- Can we brand the tables? Yes. Shared tables run on Vivo Gaming branding. Private tables carry your brand as a physical set or via Chroma Key, on the same feed.
Integration steps
- Scoping call. Tell us your platform, markets and games. A 30-minute call is usually enough to confirm the Data Feed API fits.
- Documentation. Architecture documentation is shared under NDA.
- Kickoff. A dedicated integration manager runs the launch from kickoff to go-live.
- Build. Your team renders the video in your UI, consumes the results and wires settlement to your wallet.
- Go live. Typically in days. From then on, 24/7 technical support takes over.
When to move to Seamless API
Many operators start on the Data Feed API for speed, then move to Seamless API as live grows. Seamless API makes sense when you want wallet, sessions and settlement carried for you, when you want RNG slots and casino from the Premium Aggregator on the same connection, or when you need aggregator-ready, multi-operator plumbing. Result latency on Seamless API is around 200ms, and it is typically live in weeks.
There is no re-integration between the two: they run on the same platform and the same tables. For a side-by-side view, see the live casino API page or the guide to integrating live casino.
Common questions
What is a live casino data feed?
A stream of live dealer video plus the game results that go with it, delivered into a platform that runs its own UI, wallet and settlement. The provider runs the studios and tables; the platform runs the casino.
What does the Vivo Gaming Data Feed API include?
Live HD video from several cameras on every table, each game result the moment it settles, and game state bound to the video by metadata and time stamping. The full live catalog is available: 200+ tables in 25+ languages.
Can we get a live baccarat data feed?
Yes. Baccarat, Speed Baccarat and Dragon Tiger are available on the Data Feed API, along with the rest of the live catalog. Results arrive hand by hand as each one settles, and you settle bets on your own platform.
Does the data feed include RNG games?
No. RNG slots and casino come through the Premium Aggregator on Seamless API. Many platforms start with live tables on the Data Feed API and add the aggregator later.
How long does a data feed integration take?
Typically days, because the footprint on your side is small: render the video, consume the results and settle on your stack. A dedicated integration manager runs the launch.
Can we move from the Data Feed API to Seamless API later?
Yes, with no re-integration. Both run on the same platform and the same tables. Many operators start on the Data Feed API for speed and move as their live business grows.
