Live casino glossary for operators

Live casino has its own vocabulary, and the same term can mean slightly different things from one provider to the next. These are the definitions we use, grouped by where they come up: how you buy the content, how you integrate it, how it is produced, and how you measure it.

Commercial models

Shared tables

Live tables shared across many operators. Studios, dealers and languages already exist, and players from different operators sit at the same tables, which keeps every table busy. The fastest and lowest-commitment way to offer live casino.

Private (dedicated) tables

Tables reserved for a single operator inside a provider's existing studios, branded end to end. Your look, your limits and your game mix, live in weeks, with no studio to build.

Studio hosting

A dedicated studio designed, built and operated by the provider for one operator, in a chosen market. The operator owns the players and brand; the provider runs the production. A three to six month build.

Aggregator

A platform that bundles content from many game studios behind a single integration. Instead of integrating each supplier separately, an operator integrates the aggregator once and gains access to the whole catalog, including RNG titles from established suppliers such as Betsoft, Spinomenal, KA Gaming and PG Soft.

Integration

Seamless API

The turnkey integration model. Wallet, transactions and sessions run on the provider's infrastructure, built to work across multiple operators and behind an aggregator. More is handled for you, at the cost of running less of the stack yourself. Typically weeks to live.

Seamless wallet

A single-wallet setup where the player's balance and every bet and settlement are synced in real time between the operator and the provider, so the player uses one balance across the casino. The wallet behavior that Seamless API provides.

Data Feed API

The lightweight integration model. The provider streams live HD video and game results into the operator's own casino, and the operator keeps their UI, branding, wallet and player journey. A minimal footprint, typically days to live.

Studio and production

Native dealer

A dealer who is a native speaker of the players' language, usually recruited and trained in the market they serve. Central to retention in regional markets, where language and familiarity keep players at the table.

Chroma Key

A green-screen technique that replaces the physical backdrop with a fully branded virtual set: backdrop, table surround and graphics rendered in software. Operators can swap the whole look without rebuilding the studio, on the same production pipeline as a physical set.

RNG

Random Number Generator. The certified software that determines outcomes in non-live casino games such as slots and table games. RNG content is the catalog an aggregator delivers alongside live dealer tables, and it is independently tested for fairness.

Commercial metrics

GGR

Gross Gaming Revenue. The total amount players bet minus the total paid out in winnings, before costs. GGR is the standard measure of how much a game, table or operator actually earns, and many commercial arrangements are priced against it.

Terms shift slightly between providers. When you scope a build, confirm each definition against how the provider actually charges and delivers.
