BI Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to create data-driven strategies that improve our company’s processes and increase our market share. The business intelligence (BI) analyst will help the company use the collected data to understand trends, solve business problems, and monitor metrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining insightful dashboards using Power BI and analyzing data to provide valuable insights to department heads. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent communication skills, and a passion for using data to drive business decisions.

Role responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in PowerBI that provide clear and concise information to department heads
  • Work closely with department heads to identify their data needs and create customized dashboards to meet those needs
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business, including key performance indicators and operational processes
  • Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to department heads and other stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other means
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization based on data analysis. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role
  • Expert-level proficiency in PowerBI, including dashboard creation and data modeling
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization, data analysis, and data interpretation
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex data insights into clear and actionable recommendations for business leaders
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and other data analysis tools and techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment preferred.
